What the extension does

Amazon Asset Extractor reads product information from the Amazon.com product page actively opened by the user when the user opens the extension. This includes the product title, ASIN, displayed price, bullet points, image metadata, available video links and current product URL. Data is used only for the extension's single stated purpose: exporting the current product's available information and images to local files, including related local export status tracking.

Processing on your device

Product extraction, CSV generation and ZIP generation are processed locally on your device. Extracted product data, exported files and local usage counters are not transmitted to developer-operated servers. The extension has no developer backend, accounts, analytics service or advertising service.

The extension does not deliberately read passwords, cookies, account profiles, email addresses, payment details or browsing history. The current product URL is preserved, including query parameters and fragments, which may contain tracking or user-specific identifiers. Review exported files before sharing them.

Requests to Amazon

Product image or media downloads may make normal network requests directly to Amazon or its CDN. In the current release, only selected product images are downloaded from m.media-amazon.com, images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com or images.amazon.com. Video URLs may be exported as links; video files are not downloaded.

These HTTPS image requests expose the requested URL, your IP address and ordinary browser/network metadata to Amazon or its CDN. They omit credentials and referrers and do not follow redirects. Ian does not receive these requests. Amazon and your browser have their own privacy practices.

Local storage

The extension uses chrome.storage.local for local operational state and usage counters. The current version stores successfulExports, failedExports, lastExportAt and temporary pendingExports download IDs. It does not currently persist separate user preference settings. These records are not synced or uploaded, and do not contain product titles, ASINs or product URLs.

Use and sharing

The extension's use of information is consistent with its disclosed purpose and the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements. The extension provides no developer access to your locally processed product data.

Retention and deletion

Temporary product data and archive contents are held in extension memory while processing. Closing the popup may interrupt unfinished work. Local counters remain until you uninstall the extension or clear its local storage. Pending download IDs are removed after recorded terminal outcomes or reconciliation.

Downloaded CSV, ZIP, images, video links and export reports remain on your device until you delete them. Uninstalling the extension does not delete these files or Chrome download records. The extension does not add encryption to local storage or exported files; your device's protections apply. The developer cannot remotely delete your local data.

Changes and contact

Ian will update this policy if the extension's data handling changes. For privacy questions, contact Ian at z722578910a@gmail.com.
